Raising a family in Coal Fork -thoughts?

First post here. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

Hot take but it's not perfect but it works for me. I know a lot of people disagree but after 14 years here, that's my honest assessment.

I've lived in West for about 4 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's exactly what I was looking for. When I first moved here from Seattle, I was surprised by job market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good schools in most areas
- The outdoor recreation scene is solid

The downsides:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Road conditions need improvement

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for singles. No regrets on my end..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from Seattle and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Fairview. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in government you might struggle.

People: Generally tough. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like BBQ.

Hope this helps!.

Hot take but I genuinely enjoy living here. I know a lot of people disagree but after 3 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want healthcare, then yeah this place is great. But if public transit matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

As someone who grew up here, I love the pace of life here. A lot has changed in the past few years though. pet-friendliness used to be much competitive but now it's challenging.
