Worst things about Coatesville nobody talks about

Hi all, My partner and I are Household incomes average around $57,323 in Coatesville. The unemployment rate is 5.5%, which is about average. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's improved dramatically in recent years. The only thing I'd watch out for is food scene. Other than that, Happy to answer more specific questions..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a data analyst, 54, moved here 2 years ago from Seattle. I've lived in Midtown and Lakewood, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Friendly community, easy to meet people
2. Growing food and restaurant scene
3. Affordable housing options
4. The people are generally excellent - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Chain restaurants dominate
2. Limited shopping options
3. The healthcare situation is affordable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Midtown: Great for families. better than expected vibes, walkable.
- Lakewood: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Seattle, everything felt better than expected. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are growing. Gas is stable. You can live comfortably on $50K-$110K here.

**Final verdict:**
Definitely worth checking out.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I work in legal here and it's not perfect but it works for me. The job market for my field is hit or miss. Hope this helps!.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value outdoor recreation, you'll love it. The public transit is genuinely pretty good and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. My neighborhood (The Heights) is pricey and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Denver, be prepared for the culture shock. school system is completely different here. And Traffic during rush hour is rough.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I work in hospitality here and it's been a really good experience overall. The job market for my field is underrated. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
