Hey folks, Just moved here 8 months ago and Average temperature is around 73--F, so it's warm year-round. Median household income is $82,381, which feels pretty solid for the area. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Looking forward to hearing from you all.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want housing market, then yeah this place is great. But if job market matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

I work in marketing here and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The job market for my field is excellent. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is healthcare. it's exactly what I was looking for. Worth doing your research before committing.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a pharmacist who relocated here from San Francisco about 2 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and a fresh start.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good healthcare facilities
- Four distinct seasons
Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are affordable, gas is excellent.
Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in Downtown for 4 years. Moved from Dallas for a job opportunity. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is underrated. We bought in 2024 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 1-bed in a safe area. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable.
**Employment:**
tech is strong here. hospitality is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are established for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The outdoor scene is excellent - we have biking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Downtown schools are better than expected. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Urban sprawl is real. Road conditions need improvement. And pet-friendliness can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For retirees, I'd say this is a 9/10. Definitely worth checking out.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

My experience has been mostly positive. it was the best decision I ever made. The only thing I'd watch out for is weather. Other than that, Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
