Not sure if this has been asked before, but I relocated for work and Median household income is $56,553, which feels about average for the area. You can expect to pay around $1,180 for rent here. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Would love some local perspective. Cheers. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Hot take but it's been a really good experience overall. I know a lot of people disagree but after 1 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.
I've been here 15 years and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The thing nobody mentions is pet-friendliness. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the walkability is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is tough.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Pine Hills side vs the East side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
