What to expect moving to Cody?

Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Household incomes average around $68,676 in Cody. Average temperature is around 47--F, so expect cold winters. The median home value here is around $357,300, which seems about average. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Would love some local perspective. The city has invested a lot in new development. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a electrician who relocated here from Miami about 10 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Four distinct seasons

Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Not a lot of cultural diversity

Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are established, gas is surprisingly good.

Socially, the quality of life is solid. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

My experience has been mostly positive. it's improved dramatically in recent years. The only thing I'd watch out for is outdoor recreation. Other than that, It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Bought a house here in 2022 and I love the pace of life here. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a real estate agent who relocated here from Seattle about 14 years ago. The main reasons were family and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Diverse dining options
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Chain restaurants dominate

Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are developing, gas is solid.

Socially, I love the pace of life here. No regrets on my end..
