Hi all, Homes are going for about $451,600 on average. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. What do you all think? The suburbs are where most families end up. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

The food scene here is tough. Tons of great Italian places. I genuinely enjoy living here.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.
I've been here 14 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is community vibe. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the weather is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is improving.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Springfield side vs the Greenfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Definitely worth checking out..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's exactly what I was looking for. Internet is solid in most areas.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a nurse who relocated here from Nashville about 8 years ago. The main reasons were family and retirement.
Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Strong job market in several industries
- Close to major attractions
Cons that are real:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are developing, gas is hit or miss.
Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
