OK so My family moved here when I was a kid. Poverty rate is 4.5%, which is pretty low. Homes are going for about $451,600 on average. The suburbs are where most families end up. Am I overthinking this? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The city has invested a lot in new development.

As someone who grew up here, I have mixed feelings honestly. A lot has changed in the past few years though. healthcare used to be much affordable but now it's excellent.

I've lived in The Heights for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
the quality of life is solid. When I first moved here from Charlotte, I was surprised by healthcare. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Lots of new development happening
- Good internet infrastructure
- The community vibe scene is challenging
The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Homeless population growing downtown
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for families. Good luck with whatever you decide..
