Hey everyone, I work in energy and You can expect to pay around $821 for rent here. Household incomes average around $52,574 in Colby. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The city has invested a lot in new development. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Bought a house here in 2019 and it's not perfect but it works for me. Property values have gone about the same since then.

I've lived in Eastside for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Houston, I was surprised by safety. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Lots of new development happening
- The healthcare scene is improving
The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Limited shopping options
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for remote workers. Definitely worth checking out..
