Hey folks, I grew up here but left for a while. Homes are going for about $1,466,800 on average. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Worth the trade-offs? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The weather takes some getting used to.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's not perfect but it works for me. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Hot take but it's been a really good experience overall. I know a lot of people disagree but after 15 years here, that's my honest assessment.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from Phoenix and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Sunset. It's better than expected for what you get.
Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.
People: Generally improving. It took about 15 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like Italian.
