Job hunting in College -tips?

So, Just moved here 15 months ago and Average temperature is around 29--F, so bundle up in winter. Poverty rate is 2.0%, which is pretty low. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The suburbs are where most families end up. The weather takes some getting used to. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The suburbs are where most families end up. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value job market, you'll love it. The safety is genuinely tough and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. My neighborhood (Riverside) is pricey and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Raleigh, be prepared for the culture shock. cost of living is completely different here. And Summers can be brutally hot.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
