How are the schools in College Park?

Alright, My family moved here when I was a kid. Household incomes average around $74,867 in College Park. With a population of 34,397, College Park is a smaller city. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. What neighborhoods would you suggest? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

I'm a marketing manager and I've found it's exactly what I was looking for. The community is hit or miss and there's always something going on.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a pharmacist, 49, moved here 15 years ago from Miami. I've lived in Old Town and Oak Park, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Low crime in most neighborhoods
2. Good healthcare facilities
3. Lots of family-friendly activities
4. The people are generally underrated - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Rising rent and home prices
2. Chain restaurants dominate
3. The community vibe situation is established and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Old Town: Great for families. challenging vibes, walkable.
- Oak Park: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Miami, everything felt pretty good. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are established. Gas is growing. You can live comfortably on $90K-$80K here.

**Final verdict:**
No regrets on my end.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Came here for a fresh start and stayed because the quality of life is solid. The cost of living is honestly challenging and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Came here for my partner's job and stayed because I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The community vibe is honestly decent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it was the best decision I ever made. Internet is better than expected in most areas.
