Job market in College Park for tech?

Been meaning to ask this. Crime rate is something to consider -College Park sits at 371.2 per 100K. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Thanks in advance! There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a lawyer who relocated here from Baltimore about 12 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Affordable housing options
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Property taxes are high
- Can feel isolated

Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are developing, gas is solid.

Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Hot take but I'm still on the fence after all this time. I know a lot of people disagree but after 3 years here, that's my honest assessment.
