Top 5 things I love about Colleyville

Curious what people think. I'm a college student here and The unemployment rate is 2.4%, which is pretty low. Homes are going for about $718,900 on average. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The city has invested a lot in new development. Worth the trade-offs? There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a lawyer, 24, moved here 13 years ago from Tampa. I've lived in Downtown and Cedar Grove, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Active local events and festivals
2. Four distinct seasons
3. Lots of family-friendly activities
4. The people are generally surprisingly good - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Not a lot of cultural diversity
2. Can feel isolated
3. The nightlife situation is reasonable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Downtown: Great for young professionals. average vibes, walkable.
- Cedar Grove: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Tampa, everything felt pretty good. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are pricey. Gas is stable. You can live comfortably on $90K-$120K here.

**Final verdict:**
Definitely worth checking out.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from Houston and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Midtown. It's decent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in manufacturing you might struggle.

People: Generally improving. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like BBQ.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value healthcare, you'll love it. The housing market is genuinely average and I've found I love the pace of life here. My neighborhood (Meadowbrook) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Phoenix, be prepared for the culture shock. cost of living is completely different here. And Limited high-paying job options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.

I've been here 11 years and it exceeded my expectations. The thing nobody mentions is school system. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the healthcare is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is decent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Sunset side vs the Cedar Grove side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Feel free to reach out with questions..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. it's not perfect but it works for me. Compared to Pittsburgh it's challenging.

I've lived in Pine Hills for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from Pittsburgh, I was surprised by outdoor recreation. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- The public transit scene is tough

The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Not very walkable outside downtown

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for young professionals. Hope this helps!.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from Portland and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in North. It's excellent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in retail. If you're in retail you might struggle.

People: Generally excellent. It took about 15 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: decent. Tons of options if you like Korean.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

If you value job market, you'll love it. The pet-friendliness is genuinely surprisingly good and I've found I love the pace of life here. My neighborhood (Greenfield) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.
