Anyone else feel this way? It's a a smaller city city with about 51,212 people. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. What would you do?

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a accountant who relocated here from Raleigh about 8 years ago. The main reasons were weather and school.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Good healthcare facilities
Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Not very walkable outside downtown
Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are reasonable, gas is improving.
Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
