What to expect moving to Collierville?

Curious what people think. I'm originally from Miami and Rent is about $1,574/month for a decent place. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Anyone in a similar situation? I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Compared to Houston it's pretty good.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's exactly what I was looking for. The only thing I'd watch out for is community vibe. Other than that, Good luck with whatever you decide..

Hot take but it exceeded my expectations. I know a lot of people disagree but after 11 years here, that's my honest assessment.

I've been living here for 6 years and I'd say I love the pace of life here. The weather is underrated compared to other places I've lived. Overall Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from San Diego about 9 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Active local events and festivals
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Not a lot of cultural diversity

Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are reasonable, gas is improving.

Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. No regrets on my end..
