Hot take but it was the best decision I ever made. I know a lot of people disagree but after 11 years here, that's my honest assessment.

I've lived in Springfield for about 5 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

the quality of life is solid. When I first moved here from Pittsburgh, I was surprised by walkability. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Nice parks and green spaces
- The job market scene is tough

The downsides:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Property taxes are high

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for remote workers. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I work in education here and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The job market for my field is tough. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want pet-friendliness, then yeah this place is great. But if safety matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Bought a house here in 2021 and I'm still on the fence after all this time. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.

I've been here 10 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is safety. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the pet-friendliness is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Sunset side vs the Midtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
