Housing in Collinsville compared to Minneapolis

OK so I'm retired and The unemployment rate is 3.0%, which is pretty low. With a population of 24,126, Collinsville is a small town. You can expect to pay around $979 for rent here. Homes are going for about $157,700 on average. The weather takes some getting used to. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Am I wrong here? I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The suburbs are where most families end up. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.

I've been here 13 years and it exceeded my expectations. The thing nobody mentions is traffic. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the pet-friendliness is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is pretty good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The West side vs the Greenfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
