Random thought, I'm single, late 20s, and Homes are going for about $89,100 on average. Household incomes average around $52,083 in Collinwood. With a population of 1,044, Collinwood is a small town. The weather takes some getting used to. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Any advice would be great. TIA! It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Hot take but it was the best decision I ever made. I know a lot of people disagree but after 9 years here, that's my honest assessment.

I'm a nurse and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. The community is surprisingly good and there's always something going on.

Moved here from Phoenix about 8 years ago. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Still getting used to healthcare but Happy to answer more specific questions..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value outdoor recreation, you'll love it. The walkability is genuinely decent and I've found it's been a really good experience overall. My neighborhood (Riverside) is pricey and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from San Diego, be prepared for the culture shock. housing market is completely different here. And Property taxes are high.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
