Curious what people think. I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Average temperature is around 51--F, so expect cold winters. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I love the pace of life here. Internet is decent in most areas.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a nurse who relocated here from San Diego about 10 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and school.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good schools in most areas
- Strong sense of community
Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Chain restaurants dominate
Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are growing, gas is tough.
Socially, the quality of life is solid. Feel free to reach out with questions..

I've lived in Highland for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Denver, I was surprised by school system. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good internet infrastructure
- The job market scene is underrated
The downsides:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Limited shopping options
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for families. Feel free to reach out with questions..
