What I wish I knew before living in Colonia

Military spouse here. Crime rate is something to consider -Colonia sits at 181.4 per 100K. Average temperature is around 55--F, so expect cold winters. The city has invested a lot in new development. Has anyone dealt with this?

My experience has been mostly positive. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The only thing I'd watch out for is community vibe. Other than that, Hope this helps!.
