Considering Colonial Pine Hills vs Tucson -help me decide

Alright, We have two kids and It's a a small town city with about 2,347 people. Household incomes average around $82,262 in Colonial Pine Hills. The unemployment rate is 5.8%, which is about average. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Does this match your experience? There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value weather, you'll love it. The public transit is genuinely better than expected and I've found the quality of life is solid. My neighborhood (Uptown) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Raleigh, be prepared for the culture shock. safety is completely different here. And Limited public transit options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.

I've been here 8 years and the quality of life is solid. The thing nobody mentions is pet-friendliness. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the pet-friendliness is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is better than expected.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Midtown side vs the Pine Hills side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Happy to answer more specific questions..
