Been meaning to ask this. Born and raised here. The unemployment rate is 5.2%, which is about average. The median home value here is around $61,100, which is actually reasonable. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. What would you do? Appreciate any input. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

Weather-wise, the summers are better than expected and winters are reasonable. You get used to it after the first year.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from Salt Lake City about 4 years ago. The main reasons were family and a job opportunity.
Pros I've experienced:
- Lots of new development happening
- Good internet infrastructure
- Affordable housing options
Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Can feel isolated
Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are manageable, gas is surprisingly good.
Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
