Is Colorado Springs still affordable for a single person?

For context, We relocated for my husband's job in retail. With a population of 483,099, the city has a {city_feel}. Grocery prices are creeping up but still manageable. Am I being unrealistic?

Worked in construction here for 6 years. People here are friendlier than I expected coming from {other}.. The market is underrated right now if you're in that field.

Just to add another data point - we moved from Omaha about 5 years ago. Public transit is {transit_feel} - you'll want a car.. No regrets so far.

I've been in Manitou Springs for 3 years and Downtown has improved dramatically since I first moved here.. The {industry} scene here is really picking up.

My experience has been different actually. I found that The parks system here is underrated.. Maybe it depends on which part of Colorado Springs you're in.

I'll give you a thorough answer since I've been through this exact situation.

I moved to Falcon from San Diego about 6 years ago. Initially I was overwhelmed. But after settling in, Grocery prices are creeping up but still manageable..

A few things I'd recommend:
- Check out Falcon and Downtown for housing
- Get a car if you don't have one - transit is limited
- Download the local transit app even if you drive

The biggest adjustment was housing. The community in {hood} is really tight-knit.. Overall I'd give Colorado Springs a 7/10 for young professionals.
