Top 5 things I love about Colton

Been living here since 2005. The unemployment rate is 4.3%, which is about average. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Anyone in a similar situation? Looking forward to hearing from you all. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I have mixed feelings honestly. Happy to answer more specific questions..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a teacher, 37, moved here 12 years ago from Seattle. I've lived in The Heights and Downtown, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Friendly community, easy to meet people
2. Good healthcare facilities
3. Strong job market in several industries
4. The people are generally pretty good - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Urban sprawl is real
2. Not very walkable outside downtown
3. The school system situation is pricey and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- The Heights: Great for retirees. excellent vibes, walkable.
- Downtown: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Seattle, everything felt excellent. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are competitive. Gas is reasonable. You can live comfortably on $60K-$110K here.

**Final verdict:**
