Is Columbia City walkable?

Longtime lurker here, I'm a 46-year-old sales rep and You can expect to pay around $885 for rent here. Median household income is $65,000, which feels about average for the area. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Anyone in a similar situation? The weather takes some getting used to. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The weather takes some getting used to. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

I've lived in North for about 6 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Raleigh, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Diverse dining options
- The safety scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Road conditions need improvement

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for young professionals. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Weather-wise, the summers are excellent and winters are stable. You get used to it after the first year.
