What's it really like living in Columbia Heights?

Random thought, My partner and I are Household incomes average around $74,688 in Columbia Heights. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

Used to live on the West side, now on the The Heights side. Completely different vibe. I genuinely enjoy living here.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem better than expected.

I've been here 3 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is job market. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cultural scene is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is underrated.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Eastside side vs the Fairview side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Definitely worth checking out..

I've been living here for 3 years and I'd say I'm still on the fence after all this time. The outdoor recreation is improving compared to other places I've lived. Overall Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
