Housing in Columbia compared to New York

Hey, Born and raised here. Rent is about $1,089/month for a decent place. Median household income is $107,922, which feels pretty solid for the area. Average temperature is around 56--F, so the weather is moderate. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.
