My family moved here when I was a kid. It's a a mid-size city city with about 106K people. With a population of 106K, Columbia is a mid-size city. Crime rate is something to consider -Columbia sits at 593.4 per 100K. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The city has invested a lot in new development. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The food scene here is surprisingly good.
