Been meaning to ask this. I'm a remote worker and Median household income is $64,488, which feels about average for the area. The unemployment rate is 2.6%, which is pretty low. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The city has invested a lot in new development. Anyone in a similar situation? Appreciate any input. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want traffic, then yeah this place is great. But if dating scene matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.
I've been here 6 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is healthcare. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the cost of living is legit. And if you're into running, this place is pretty good.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The West side vs the Pine Hills side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is school system. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Worth doing your research before committing.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a pharmacist who relocated here from Houston about 13 years ago. The main reasons were work and school.
Pros I've experienced:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Four distinct seasons
- Good airport with direct flights
Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Dating scene is rough
Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are stable, gas is underrated.
Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Public transit is better than expected here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I have mixed feelings honestly.

I've been living here for 13 years and I'd say it's exactly what I was looking for. The weather is tough compared to other places I've lived. Overall Feel free to reach out with questions..

I've been living here for 7 years and I'd say I genuinely enjoy living here. The community vibe is tough compared to other places I've lived. Overall It's not for everyone but it works for us..

My experience has been mostly positive. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The only thing I'd watch out for is safety. Other than that, No regrets on my end..
