Best coffee shops in Columbia?

Random thought, I'm a teacher here and Median household income is $55,653, which feels about average for the area. Rent is about $1,158/month for a decent place. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Any advice would be great. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Public transit is pretty good here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I genuinely enjoy living here.

I've lived in Westside for about 6 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's exactly what I was looking for. When I first moved here from Raleigh, I was surprised by nightlife. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Four distinct seasons
- The nightlife scene is solid

The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Urban sprawl is real

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for remote workers. Happy to answer more specific questions..
