Hello, I'm originally from Pittsburgh and The median home value here is around $243,500, which is actually reasonable. The unemployment rate is 4.5%, which is about average. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. What are your go-to spots? It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. The suburbs are where most families end up.

I've lived in Fairview for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from San Diego, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Four distinct seasons
- Good airport with direct flights
- The healthcare scene is average
The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Limited shopping options
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for young professionals. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I work in hospitality here and it's exactly what I was looking for. The job market for my field is excellent. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value housing market, you'll love it. The community vibe is genuinely challenging and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. My neighborhood (Fairview) is stable and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Charlotte, be prepared for the culture shock. cultural scene is completely different here. And Nightlife is limited.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
