Been meaning to ask this. I work in tech and Median household income is $56,622, which feels about average for the area. You can expect to pay around $1,072 for rent here. With a population of 204K, Columbus is a mid-size city. Homes are going for about $182,300 on average. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The suburbs are where most families end up. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. What do you all think? It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Bought a house here in 2018 and I genuinely enjoy living here. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

I work in marketing here and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The job market for my field is pretty good. Happy to answer more specific questions..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from Charlotte and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Fairview. It's underrated for what you get.
Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in education. If you're in finance you might struggle.
People: Generally pretty good. It took about 13 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: tough. Tons of options if you like Indian.
It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in Greenfield for 12 years. Moved from San Francisco for my partner's job. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is better than expected. We bought in 2021 at k and it's now worth up significantly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals.
**Employment:**
education is strong here. hospitality is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are competitive for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The outdoor scene is average - we have rivers within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Greenfield schools are improving. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Rising rent and home prices. Not very walkable outside downtown. And cultural scene can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For families, I'd say this is a 7/10. Happy to answer more specific questions.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want outdoor recreation, then yeah this place is great. But if cultural scene matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
