Considering Columbus vs Chicago — help me decide

Curious what people think. Rent is about $1,072/month for a decent place. Household incomes average around $56,622 in Columbus. Homes are going for about $182,300 on average. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The city has invested a lot in new development. Anyone in a similar situation? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. I'm a marketing manager and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. The community is average and there's always something going on.

We moved here with our family and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Schools in Greenfield area are decent. Kids love it here.
