What to expect moving to Columbus?

Random thought, I'm originally from Dallas and Poverty rate is 9.4%, which is pretty low. Household incomes average around $76,856 in Columbus. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. What do you all think? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a real estate agent who relocated here from Denver about 13 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Close to major attractions
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Not very walkable outside downtown

Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are pricey, gas is challenging.

Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Hope this helps!.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 10 years ago from Atlanta and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in West. It's pretty good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in retail you might struggle.

People: Generally underrated. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: average. Tons of options if you like seafood.
