Columbus quality of life — am I missing something?
Hey everyone, I'm single, late 30s, and Crime rate is something to consider — Columbus sits at 503.4 per 100K. Household incomes average around $65,327 in Columbus. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

Public transit is underrated here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I genuinely enjoy living here.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.
I've been here 12 years and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The thing nobody mentions is healthcare. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the community vibe is legit. And if you're into surfing, this place is hit or miss.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Fairview side vs the Greenfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

The food scene here is decent. Tons of great craft beer places. it exceeded my expectations.
