Cheapest neighborhoods in Colwyn?

OK so I'm a remote worker and It's a a small town city with about 2,683 people. Average temperature is around 56--F, so the weather is moderate. The weather takes some getting used to. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Used to live on the Westside side, now on the Greenfield side. Completely different vibe. the quality of life is solid.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a pharmacist, 44, moved here 13 years ago from San Diego. I've lived in Oak Park and Maple Ridge, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Cost of living is very reasonable
2. Low crime in most neighborhoods
3. Good airport with direct flights
4. The people are generally underrated - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Urban sprawl is real
2. Limited high-paying job options
3. The outdoor recreation situation is wild and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Oak Park: Great for retirees. hit or miss vibes, walkable.
- Maple Ridge: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from San Diego, everything felt underrated. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are growing. Gas is wild. You can live comfortably on $90K-$150K here.

**Final verdict:**
No regrets on my end.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's been a really good experience overall. Internet is excellent in most areas.

Weather-wise, the summers are average and winters are wild. You get used to it after the first year.
