Moving to Commack -what should I know?

OK so I relocated for work and Rent is about $2,396/month for a decent place. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Is this normal for Commack? Thanks for reading.

We moved here with our family and it's improved dramatically in recent years. Schools in Old Town area are average. Kids love it here.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from Chicago and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Oak Park. It's challenging for what you get.

Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in education you might struggle.

People: Generally solid. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like Italian.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want housing market, then yeah this place is great. But if food scene matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Hot take but it's been a really good experience overall. I know a lot of people disagree but after 3 years here, that's my honest assessment.
