The good and bad of living in Commerce

Hi all, Homes are going for about $233,900 on average. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. TIA! Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

Moved here from Minneapolis about 13 years ago. I genuinely enjoy living here. Still getting used to pet-friendliness but No regrets on my end..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 7 years ago from Tampa and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Highland. It's tough for what you get.

Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in real estate you might struggle.

People: Generally solid. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
