Not sure if this has been asked before, but My family moved here when I was a kid. Household incomes average around $35,298 in Commerce. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Has anyone dealt with this? The weather takes some getting used to. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value healthcare, you'll love it. The public transit is genuinely surprisingly good and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. My neighborhood (Meadowbrook) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Atlanta, be prepared for the culture shock. outdoor recreation is completely different here. And Limited public transit options.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

As someone who grew up here, I love the pace of life here. A lot has changed in the past few years though. dating scene used to be much stable but now it's average.

I've lived in Riverside for about 15 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from Boston, I was surprised by pet-friendliness. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- The nightlife scene is decent
The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Urban sprawl is real
Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for remote workers. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.
I've been here 5 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is job market. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the weather is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is solid.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The East side vs the Riverside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
