Housing market in Compton — is it worth buying?

Median home value here is around $546,700. Prices are steep but there are pockets of affordability. For those renting, typical rent is $1601.

Is now a good time to buy in Compton? Or better to keep renting?

Looking for opinions from both homeowners and renters.

Downtown is overrated and overpriced. The suburbs offer way better value.

For families, I'd recommend looking at Downtown. Schools are rated well and it's quiet.
