Best and worst neighborhoods in Comstock Park

Hello, Household incomes average around $54,871 in Comstock Park. With a population of 10,306, Comstock Park is a small town. Homes are going for about $216,600 on average. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Property taxes are high but you get good services. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Weather-wise, the summers are challenging and winters are developing. You get used to it after the first year.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a social worker who relocated here from Phoenix about 1 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and weather.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Active local events and festivals
- Four distinct seasons

Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are competitive, gas is hit or miss.

Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it exceeded my expectations. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
