Remote worker thinking about Comstock Park

Random thought, Born and raised here. It's a a small town city with about 10,306 people. Homes are going for about $216,600 on average. Crime rate is something to consider -Comstock Park sits at 714.1 per 100K. The unemployment rate is 3.5%, which is pretty low. Household incomes average around $54,871 in Comstock Park. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The city has invested a lot in new development. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value walkability, you'll love it. The safety is genuinely challenging and I've found I love the pace of life here. My neighborhood (Pine Hills) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Austin, be prepared for the culture shock. weather is completely different here. And Traffic during rush hour is rough.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
