Moving to Concord — what should I know?

I got a job offer in Concord, CA and I'm seriously considering the move. I'm coming from a large city. A few questions:

1. Which neighborhoods should I look at for a $1800-2700 budget?

2. How's the commute situation?

3. Is the crime as bad as the stats suggest?

4. Any hidden costs I should know about?

Check out the Maple Heights area. Way more affordable and still close to everything.

Great post! One thing I'd mention is check out the local Facebook groups for neighborhood info. Makes a big difference.
