Couple moving to Concord from out of state

OK so I'm a teacher here and The unemployment rate is 3.4%, which is pretty low. Household incomes average around $84,752 in Concord. You can expect to pay around $1,365 for rent here. It's a a mid-size city city with about 107K people. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Thanks! There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The suburbs are where most families end up. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.

I've been here 11 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is food scene. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the healthcare is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is better than expected.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Uptown side vs the Westside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Happy to answer more specific questions..

We moved here with our family and I'm still on the fence after all this time. Schools in Maple Ridge area are underrated. Kids love it here.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a accountant, 27, moved here 1 years ago from Houston. I've lived in Eastside and Springfield, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Good healthcare facilities
2. Decent public transit for the size
3. Good internet infrastructure
4. The people are generally excellent - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Chain restaurants dominate
2. Far from beaches/mountains
3. The job market situation is pricey and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Eastside: Great for couples. average vibes, walkable.
- Springfield: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Houston, everything felt pretty good. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are developing. Gas is stable. You can live comfortably on $60K-$70K here.

**Final verdict:**
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I've lived in Westside for about 2 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from Houston, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Decent public transit for the size
- The walkability scene is challenging

The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Not very walkable outside downtown

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for singles. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want public transit, then yeah this place is great. But if pet-friendliness matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
