Been meaning to ask this. I'm a 40-year-old real estate agent and Household incomes average around $84,752 in Concord. Homes are going for about $327,600 on average. Median household income is $84,752, which feels pretty solid for the area. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Let me know your thoughts. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The weather takes some getting used to. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

I've lived in Midtown for about 6 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
the quality of life is solid. When I first moved here from Miami, I was surprised by outdoor recreation. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Strong job market in several industries
- The pet-friendliness scene is challenging
The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Homeless population growing downtown
Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for couples. Good luck with whatever you decide..

I've lived in Downtown for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Nashville, I was surprised by school system. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Strong job market in several industries
- The walkability scene is decent
The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Limited high-paying job options
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for singles. Hope this helps!.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a marketing manager, 43, moved here 2 years ago from Houston. I've lived in Eastside and Oak Park, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Four distinct seasons
2. Close to major attractions
3. Lots of family-friendly activities
4. The people are generally excellent - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Urban sprawl is real
2. Limited high-paying job options
3. The healthcare situation is stable and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Eastside: Great for singles. excellent vibes, walkable.
- Oak Park: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Houston, everything felt pretty good. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are growing. Gas is pricey. You can live comfortably on $90K-$70K here.
**Final verdict:**
Would recommend to anyone considering it.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Bought a house here in 2021 and it's improved dramatically in recent years. Property values have gone up a bit since then.
