Alright, The median home value here is around $327,600, which seems about average. With a population of 107K, Concord is a mid-size city. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Has anyone dealt with this? TIA! Property taxes are high but you get good services. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

As someone who grew up here, it exceeded my expectations. A lot has changed in the past few years though. community vibe used to be much competitive but now it's tough.

The food scene here is pretty good. Tons of great Indian places. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from Tampa about 11 years ago. The main reasons were school and a job opportunity.
Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Good healthcare facilities
- Strong sense of community
Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Far from beaches/mountains
Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are stable, gas is tough.
Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Hope this helps!.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in Westside for 10 years. Moved from Dallas for cost of living. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is solid. We bought in 2020 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 1-bed in a safe area. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts.
**Employment:**
hospitality is strong here. engineering is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are wild for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
it was the best decision I ever made. The outdoor scene is excellent - we have hiking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Westside schools are decent. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Limited high-paying job options. Property taxes are high. And traffic can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For retirees, I'd say this is a 7/10. Give it a chance - it might surprise you.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Bought a house here in 2018 and I have mixed feelings honestly. Property values have gone down slightly since then.
