Living in Concord -the reality

So, Average temperature is around 47--F, so expect cold winters. Homes are going for about $323,700 on average. Household incomes average around $83,701 in Concord. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The suburbs are where most families end up. Would love some local perspective. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The suburbs are where most families end up. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Compared to Raleigh it's solid.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a project manager who relocated here from Salt Lake City about 5 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and retirement.

Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Four distinct seasons
- Close to major attractions

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Not a lot of cultural diversity

Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are competitive, gas is decent.

Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
