Why I chose Concord over bigger cities

So, Median household income is $83,701, which feels pretty solid for the area. You can expect to pay around $1,360 for rent here. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The weather takes some getting used to. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The weather takes some getting used to. The weather takes some getting used to. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 10 years ago from Raleigh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Lakewood. It's challenging for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in retail. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.

People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like craft beer.

Good luck with whatever you decide..
