Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a lawyer who relocated here from Tampa about 4 years ago. The main reasons were work and work.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Good healthcare facilities
- Lots of family-friendly activities
Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Rising rent and home prices
Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are pricey, gas is tough.
Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from San Francisco about 6 years ago. The main reasons were family and my partner's job.
Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good schools in most areas
- Active local events and festivals
Cons that are real:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Homeless population growing downtown
Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are reasonable, gas is tough.
Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem surprisingly good.
I've been here 10 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is safety. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the food scene is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is underrated.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Downtown side vs the Midtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
