Is this normal for Connellsville? Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. As someone who grew up here, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. A lot has changed in the past few years though. walkability used to be much affordable but now it's challenging.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.
I've been here 2 years and it's not perfect but it works for me. The thing nobody mentions is traffic. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the cultural scene is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is pretty good.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The North side vs the Midtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a writer who relocated here from Salt Lake City about 1 years ago. The main reasons were school and weather.
Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good internet infrastructure
- Four distinct seasons
Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Rising rent and home prices
Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are manageable, gas is excellent.
Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are pretty good, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
